Bio

Music has been an integral part of Laura da Sousa's life for as long as she can remember. Growing up surrounded by melodies and rhythms, her father played a significant role in nurturing her passion. At the age of 15, he gifted her a second-hand Epiphone acoustic guitar, and she vividly recalls learning her first chord by carefully studying Kurt Cobain’s hand on a Nirvana poster in her bedroom.

Laura's sound is deeply influenced by the timeless classics of Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, June Carter, and Johnny Cash. These legends have shaped her musical journey, blending traditional country vibes with a touch of her own unique twist.

She has had the honor of being featured as Artist of the Week three times on her local BBC Introducing radio show, a testament to the love and dedication she pours into her music. Additionally, Laura has had the privilege of supporting renowned artists such as Tim Grimm, T'Pau, Space, and Bronwynn Brent.

Inspired by classic country singers and old love songs, Laura's music also reflects her years of singing to improve well-being in care homes. This experience has deepened her connection to the power of music and its ability to heal and uplift.

With each song, Laura aims to create an experience that resonates deeply with listeners, bringing a sense of nostalgia while also offering something fresh and magical. Her latest single, "Dark Moon," is a testament to this, combining classic country elements with an atmospheric, mystical twist.

Driven by a desire to make it big in the music industry—the sky’s the limit for Laura Douse! This is her passion, and she invites you to join her on this musical journey, creating unforgettable memories together.
